The Emmaus girls lacrosse team posted a 2-1 record in three nonleague games to start the season.
The Hornets beat Upper Perkiomen 14-5 on opening day, March 22. Grace Hall had four goals and a pair of assists in the win, while Taylor O’Brien added three goals and one assist. Teammates Olivia Chase, Tori Brinckman and Kaitlyn Csensits scored two goals each, while Julia Cote added the other Hornet goal.
Emmaus goal keeper Chloe Gerhard made seven saves in the win.
The Hornets traveled to Wyoming Seminary the next day and posted a 14-10 win. Hall (2 goals, 3 assists), Brinckman (2 goals, 2 assists), Emma Schoenly (goal, assist), O’Brien (6 goals, 4 assists) and Csensits (3 goals) scored for Emmaus, while Gerhard made 13 saves and teammate Ellie Ervin made three stops in goal.
Emmaus’ first loss of the season came last Wednesday against Wilson-West Lawn, 21-4.
O’Brien became the school’s all time leading scorer in the game, recording her 176th career goal. Cote, Hall and Ally Shaffer has one goal apiece for Emmaus. Gerhard made seven saves in the game.
The Hornets first East Penn Conference game was slated for Tuesday against Northampton. It begins a big week as they host Central Catholic Thursday and travel to defending district champion Parkland Saturday afternoon.
