KIDS CLOSET SALE

The 2019 Spring-Summer Kids Closet Sale will be held April 16 through 18 at Penn’s Peak, 325 Maury Road, Jim Thorpe.

The sale 5-9 p.m. April 16 is for VIP passholders and new moms. The sale will be open to the public 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. April 17 and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 18.

The longtime community resource that helps families save money on children’s necessities has a new owner.

The Times News and Lehigh Valley Press purchased the Kids Closet Sale from Danielle Andreas, who started the consignment sale nearly a decade ago.

“We’ve been talking about getting into hosting events for a few months, and when Danielle posted that after nine years, she was giving (the Kids Closet Sale) up and if anyone was interested to contact her, I thought it was a sign,” Jennifer Benninger, advertising director for the Times News, said. “It is family oriented. We thought it was a great fit.”

Consignors are being sought and the average consignor has made over $300 at the past sales. The last day to register and enter items into the consignment system is noon April 14.

An early bird contest began March 25. Four lucky winners will receive early bird passes to begin shopping 4 p.m. April 16.

Sponsorship opportunities are available for business owners to reach an estimated 1,000 shoppers. Hangers are also needed.
