Two Northwestern Lehigh wrestlers competed in the PIAA Class 2A Southeast Regional Tournament last Friday and Saturday at Wilson-West Lawn.
Junior Jake Dellicker, who finished second in District 11 at 113 pounds, opened his regional tournament with an 18-5 loss to Camp Hill freshman Chrstian Dio, the seventh-place finisher out of District 1.
Dellicker won his first consolation match, pinning Faith Christiam freshman Cody Witzer (District 1 runner-up) in 2:08. Dellicker’s tournament ended with a 12-3 loss to Biglerville freshman Ethan Slaybaugh, the sixth-place finisher in District 3. Dellicker ends his season at 19-17.
Jake’s older brother, Will Dellicker entered regionals as the fourth-place finisher out of District 11. He dropped his first regional bout to Boiling Springs senior Nick Kostyak, the runner-up from District 3. Kostyak pinned Jake Dellicker in 1:47.
The Tiger senior picked up a forfeit win to move on to the second round of consolation matches. His tournament ended with a 4-0 loss to Tulpehocken’s David Bortz, the fourth-place finisher from District 3. Will Dellicker ends his season at 12-6.
