Yard waste passes are available at Macungie Borough Hall for residents to take their yard waste to Emmaus for a $20 fee. This site accepts all yard waste. There is a site in Macungie that only accepts leaves during the fall season.
The proposed tax credit ordinance for volunteers was discussed. Eligible volunteers must meet certain requirements – they must be available for 25 percent of training, fundraising, emergency calls and meeting attendance. Volunteers must fill out a form to indicate they have met the requirements for the credit. This will also assist the borough in knowing the amount to be reimbursed. Berkheimer, the taxing agency, will be responsible for reimbursing these volunteers.
“No parking” signs were put on Parkside Drive but there was no ordinance for them.
There was a sign signifying “Emergency Turnaround” but this has disappeared. Now the fire engines use a resident’s driveway to do the turnaround. Council is not sure of the fire department’s part in this so they will do some checking before this situation can be resolved.
