Despite Punxsutawney Phil’s prediction for an early spring, The snow keeps piling up. Hopefully spring arrives soon.

All Salisbury Township schools will be closed March 8 for a teacher in-service day. School will resume March 11.

Daylight saving time begins March 10; don’t forget to “spring” those clocks forward one hour. Also remember to change your smoke detector batteries as well.

We love our fire departments; however, seeing them due to a fire is not the best way to meet them.

The Salisbury High School Theatre presents “HONK” March 14-17. This is a musical adaptation of the Hans Christian Andersen story, “The Ugly Duckling.” Show times are 7 p.m. March 14-16 and 3 p.m. March 17. The Harry S Truman Elementary School PTO will hold its next dine and donate 6-8 p.m. March 19 at Taps Tavern, 3731 Route 378, Bethlehem. Mention you are there to support Harry S, Truman Elementary School and the PTO will receive a donation of a percentage of your purchase.

The SHS Student Government Advisory dodgeball tournament will be held 6 p.m. March 19 in the SHS gym. Tickets are available in advance and at the door.

The HST spring concert will be held 9:30 a.m. March 21. If you are able to make this, it is always a great show put on by students in kindergarten through grade two.

March 10 is Girl Scout Sunday at Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church of Eastern Salisbury, 1707 Church Road. Girl Scout Cookies will be on sale 10:15 a.m.

The Altar Guild at Jerusalem is selling Easter flowers including lilies, tulips, hyacinths, mums and daffodils. The deadline for orders is March 31. To place an order, call 610-866-1611 or 484-456-1148.
