Neal A. Lamana, 84, of Bethlehem, died at home Feb. 9, 2019. Born in Hazleton, he was a son of the late Gennaro and Mary (Gorga) Lamana. He was the husband of Elaine (Geldon) Lamana for 57 years.
He was a 1952 graduate of Liberty HS.
He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
He was a city of Bethlehem police officer for 32 years and was a juvenile officer and investigator with the Charlie Team. He worked with his son until his retirement; they were one of the few father-son teams to work together in police department history. He was earlier in life a woodworker and carpenter for Bethlehem Woodcraft.
He was a member of the FOP Star Lodge #20.
He was a photographer and a collector of Bethlehem photographs and memorabilia.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, John and his wife June and their daughter Taylor; a daughter, Lisa and her husband Jim Lauer; a brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Jean Sobota; godchildren; nephews; nieces; and lifelong friends.
