Mark A. Klein

Mark Alan Klein, 84, of Zionsville, died Feb. 2, 2019, after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was the husband of Patty (Finkle) Klein for 62 years. Born and raised in Allentown, he was the son of the late Rebecca and Gerson Klein.

He was a gregarious figure, well known for his friendly nature. He graduated from Allen High School, attended Lehigh University and served in the Army in Korea and Japan.

In 1959 he worked for his father’s wholesale paper and office supply business. He called his wife and told her to set up a bank account for a new business he wanted to start. “Call it Mar-Pat,” combining their names. He ran Mar-Pat, which converted cardboard and paper products for use in the garment industry, for over 40 years before passing it on to a former employee.

He lived his life as a perpetual camp-kid, enjoying his time as a young man at Camp Wigwam. He approached life with a constant sense of joy and fun. He was a passionate golfer and all-around competitive athlete.

He served on the board of directors for United Jewish Appeal, Allentown.

He is survived by his wife and a host of children and grandchildren. Arrangements were made by the Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Homes.
