Students interested in signing up for the second semester of dual enrollment for the courses Honors Anatomy and Physiology, German IV or Spanish IV should make sure to turn in their registration form and money to Mrs. Moyer by Feb. 19.

The Salisbury High School course selection form is now open. Students should choose their courses for the 2019-2020 school year. The course form must be filled out by midnight Feb. 13. Students have a variety of courses to choose from including some returning alternating courses. For more information about each course, check out the program of studies on the guidance website. Students will begin to meet with their guidance counselors Feb. 19 to discuss their course choices individually.

Juniors interested in learning more about colleges can attend the Pennsylvania Association for College Admission Counseling’s Regional College Fair at Cedar Crest College March 6. Interested students should pick up a permission form in the guidance office. Currently, the school is only taking 45 students, so the first students to return the form will go to the fair. All other students will be placed on a waiting list. Permission forms are due by Feb. 22.

On Feb. 26, representatives from Moravian College will come to SHS to talk to juniors about the college process, including admission, choosing the right college and financial aid. Parents and guardians can attend the information meeting 6:30 to 8 p.m.

During the meeting, the college process will be presented and a panel of college admission counselors will be there to answer any questions.

The Salisbury girls soccer team will hold a fundraiser at Louie’s Feb. 18 through 21. By presenting the flyer at the time of purchase, 20 percent of the bill, both take-out or stay-in, will be donated to the SHS girls soccer team.

The Salisbury Athletic Club is holding a sale of Falconwear. Visit https://sv-sports.tuosystems.com/stores/falconwin19 through Feb. 18 to buy all of your Falcon gear. The items are expected to be delivered on March 20.

The Environmental Awareness Club is holding a recycling competition to see which class can recycle the most. Each class has a separate recycling bin at lunch. The class that correctly recycles the most goods will win Falcon Cup points. For those of you who do not know, students at SHS compete in a variety of different activities to win Falcon Cup points. The class with the most points at the end of the year, wins the Falcon Cup.

Make sure to mark your calendars as Feb. 27 is the SHS blood drive to support the Miller Keystone Blood Center. Students and faculty are able to begin donating noon. All other community members are welcome to sign up to donate blood after the bell rings. For more information, check out the flyer.

Finally, as a reminder, the first snow day make up of the year is Feb 15. All students will report to school on this day. However, students will enjoy a day off Feb. 18 for Presidents Day.
