A. Ronald King

A. Ronald King (Ron), 94, formerly of Allentown, died Feb. 4, 2019, attended by family. He was the husband of the late Lois H. King. They were married for 66 years. Born in Cando, N. D., he was the son of Abram Rohrer King and Hannah Vaughn Owens King.

He graduated from Cando High School and entered military service. He served three years in the U.S. Navy Air Corps during World War II and served on the USS Midway. Upon honorable discharge, he enrolled at the University of North Dakota and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in commerce. He was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity.

He was employed in corporate insurance and financial services for 40 years and retired in 1990 from Chrysler First Corporation. They moved to Messiah Lifeways in 1996.

He and his wife were founding members of Grace Community Church, Wescosville. He was active in church ministries as an elder, teacher, youth leader and church administration. He volunteered for many years as a grandbear at Children’s Family Center at Messiah Village and was a member of the Cumberland Valley Train Club.

He is survived by children, Randy S. (Kristen), Karen R., Marilyn D., Linda S. and Stephen R. (Carol); eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Kenneth DeWayne “Dewey” (Peggy) and Harold Owen (Barbara); along with their large and extended families.
