Kyle Hartranft has the task of fundraising for North Catasauqua’s volunteer fire department, Charotin Hose Company, located at 1066 Fourth St.
Deann Schneck, of Paint and Party, came up with the idea to have a Paint and Sip event at the firehouse. The event was held Feb. 9.
The idea is to paint as a group under the watchful guidance of a local artist and walk away with your own canvas. Some of the budding artists were convinced the picture got better as the night wore on.
The artist/instructor was Karen Cooney. She works with Dorney Park to set up the Halloween Haunt event.
Firefighter Chris Reifinger attended the painting party to help with the setup and bring in the snacks - much easier than a firefighter training event.
The event was BYOB, which means painters got to select the quality of the sip.
This was the first of this type of event at the fire department, but Hartranft said he wants to bring it back again.
