Support Salisbury High School’s boys basketball by visiting the Applebee’s in Trexlertown between 8 and 10 a.m. Feb. 2. The event will include a basket raffle as well. The winner will be announced 9:30 a.m.

Support SHS’s girls soccer team by visiting Louie’s Italian restaurant, 2071 31st St. SW, Feb. 18 through 21. Simply present the flyer when you check out and 20 percent of your bill will be donated to the team. This offer applies to dine in or take out orders.

Students taking Honors Anatomy and Physiology, German IV or Spanish IV, currently in dual enrollment, may re-enroll in the course in order to receive the other part of the credit for the course. This is optional. Students in dual enrollment for the first semester of a course do not need to enroll in the second semester. For information about how to register, check the email sent by Mrs. Moyer. All registration forms and money are due by Feb. 19.

Spring physicals are being held in the SHS Health Room Feb. 21. Boys physicals will be held 5 p.m. and girls physicals will be held 5:45 p.m. Athletes are asked to arrive 15 minutes early, wear athletic clothing and wear contacts/glasses if necessary. There is a cost. All checks should be made payable to STSD. Cash is also accepted.

Spring sports, including baseball, boys tennis, varsity softball and track and field, practices will begin March 4.

SHS National Honor Society will hold its second Blood Drive 12:30 to 7 p.m. Feb. 27. During school hours, students and faculty will have the opportunity to donate blood. However, after school, community members are encouraged to come to SHS to donate as well. Mark your calendars to help support the Miller Keystone Blood Center.

January is #RespectYourself and #ShatterTheMyths month. To raise awareness about these two topics, SHS’s Students Taking Active Roles, or STARS, have placed posters around the school to inform students about drugs, alcohol and respecting yourself. During lunch, students will have the opportunity to enter a raffle to win a Dunkin’ Donuts gift card. To enter the raffle, students will answer a quiz about drug and alcohol facts during lunch.
