Julius F. Iacocca

Julius F. Iacocca, 93, of South Whitehall Township, died Jan. 10, 2019, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Phyllis A. (Rose) Iacocca for 70 years.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Theodore and Assunta (Cocca) Iacocca.

He was a 1943 graduate of Allentown High School and a 1948 graduate of Lehigh University. He completed officer training at the University of Notre Dame.

He was a first lieutenant in the Marine Corps during World War II.

He became the second generation co-owner of Yocco’s, Inc., along with his brother, Albert M. He retired in 1993, but remained an advisor to his son, Gary.

A golfer, he was a longtime member of Brookside Country Club.

He was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Allentown.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Linda S., of Erin, N.Y.; Cheryl A. and her husband Jack Kogelman, of Northampton, Gary J., of Allentown and Lisa and her husband Dr. Mark Shoenberger, of Emmaus; and two siblings, Dr. Victor and his wife Priscilla, of Broomall and Gloria Krause, of Allentown.

He was predeceased by a son, Gregory; a brother, Albert M.; and a daughter-in-law, Dorothy Jean (Eakin).

Services are private. There will be calling hours for family and friends 4 to 8 p.m. Jan. 22 in the J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home Inc., 1601 Hamilton St., Allentown.
