Joseph W. Tysinger, 89, of Macungie, died Dec. 20, 2018, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Elsbeth (Kreft) Tysinger. They celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary last February. Born in Astoria, N.Y., he was a son of the late Joseph L. and Dora (Bushey) Tysinger.

He was employed as a power plant manager and chief engineer for the Stroh Brewery Company for many years, retiring in 1994.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife; daughter, Susan and her husband Leonard Freund, of Newnan, Ga. and their children Kristi and her husband Paul Norvell, Gregory, Kevin and his wife Maegan, Thomas, Kayla, Kyle and Alex; son, Thomas and his wife Stephanie, of Norwich, Vt. and their children Emma, Eric and Matthew; sister, Jean Olimon, of Chula Vista, Calif.

Services are private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements were made by the Stephens Funeral Home, Inc., Allentown.
