Roy E. Aber Sr., 84, of Allentown, died Oct. 28, 2019, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

He and his wife, Jessie (Tate) Aber, were married 59 years on April 17.

Born Oct. 8, 1935, in Sussex, N.J., he was the son of the late Elizabeth (Roy) and Abraham Lincoln Aber.

He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during a peacetime era.

He was a regional agronomist for the former Agway Inc.

A member of Kittatinny Lodge 164, F.&A.M. and the Lehigh Valley Woodturners, he was an avid Philadelphia sports fan.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by sons Roy E. Jr. and his wife, Wendy, of Rixeyville, Va., Scott D. and his wife, Tyesha, of Fayetteville N.C., Jeffrey A. and his wife, Michelle, of Bear Del., and Christopher T. and his wife, Elaine, of Richlandtown; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

His service will be private, at the convenience of the family.

There will be no calling hours.
