Parkland sweeps area teams

Last week’s cross country meet was held at Lehigh Parkway where Bethlehem Catholic, Freedom, and Liberty competed against William Allen, Dieruff, and Parkland on Tuesday.

In both girls’ and boys’ team results, Parkland defeated all three Bethlehem teams, but the Bethlehem teams defeated Allen and Dieruff.

In girls’ individual results, Liberty’s Emily Jobes took first place in 20:07, Freedom’s Lauren Charboneau was second in 20:37, Liberty’s Belle Weikert came in fourth in 20:49, and Becahi’s Margaret Burke was fifth in 20:56.

Liberty’s Madison Drager came in sixth place in 21:01, Cami Bortz was 11th in 21:57, Jessica Farrell was 12th in 22:00, and Ella Scott placed 15th in 22:27.

Also from Liberty, Jolene Bachman came in 18th in 22:35 and Mikailyn Matacavage was 19th in 22:47.

Freedom’s Eliza Fihlman placed 20th in 22:47.

In boys’ individual results, Cole Frank took first place in 17:04, Freedom’s Alex Heidemann was second in 17:20, Freedom’s Alex Hume placed seventh in 17:56, Liberty’s Casey Frank was eighth in 18:08, and Philip Bezas came in ninth in 18:09.

Freedom’s Eric Mann finished in 13th place in 18:20, Liberty’s Andrew Layne was 14th in 18:32, Jacob Orrico came in 16th in 18:49, Freedom’s Matt Parkin was 17th in 18:51, Liberty’s Sam Graybeal was 19th in 18:59, and Becahi’s Matt Millen placed 20th in 19:01.
