William E. Confer, 80, of Alburtis, died Nov. 26, 2018, at home. He was the husband of Kathy J. (Kurtz) Confer to whom he was married for 44 years in May. Born in Alburtis, he was a son of the late Warren H. and Miriam G. (Haas) Confer.

He worked for Bethlehem Steel as a crane operator for 30 years, retiring in 1996.

He was a member of Alburtis Rod and Gun Club and NIMROD Wildlife Association.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting and watching his favorite football team, the Washington Redskins.

He served in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife; brothers, Eugene, Robert, Donald, Ronald, Carl, Richard and David; sisters, Mary Fogelman, Marion Hinnershitz, Dorothy Keefer and Susan Haberle; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Warren and Lloyd; sisters, Margaret Rohrbach, Janet Pauley and Shirley Kramer.
