Where did local residents turn to find unique gifts for this holiday season?
Each year on Small Business Saturday, the Saturday after Thanksgiving, Main Streets President Kimberly Brubaker hosts a pop-up shop for local handmade products. Main Streets is Catasauqua’s business association.
This year, the pop-up shop was held at 417 Front St., Catasauqua. The property is owned by Jackie and David Harth, who provided the space at no cost.
The shop has a limited display of handmade art from a variety of craftsmen. Some of the vendors are repeats.
Local vendors included Valerie Dietzel’s It’s All Cozy, a collection of quality knitted crafts; Kelsie Underkofler with a collection of string art and window projects; Pam Mosely’s His Grace & Design, custom-crafted woolen products; Nicole Miller selling banners and wood letters; Nelle Bush displaying her collection of zippered, clutch purses; Rachel Birch with Rachelink cards on display; Typothecary business of a letter press collection; Amber James with Hook, Loop and Chain “coozies”; Deb Mellish displaying pottery and jewelry; Chris Neyen selling paintings and photography; and David Joachim with his collection of cookbooks and specialty salts.
At the event, food gifts were also available. Meadow View Beekeeping, a repeat vendor, had an assortment of local honeys. Shelly Nolter had her Pie Babies available for purchase. There were also Blockers Coffeehouse gift-wrapped premium coffees.
Jean Decker ran the wreath-making project in the back room, creating some unique designs from locally foraged greens and accoutrements.
Madison Harth is in the wreath-making room designing her holiday creation. All the supplies were locally foraged.
