Roughies Report: No classes Dec. 3

There will be no school for students in the Catasauqua Area School District Dec. 3. Teachers will have an in-service day.

There is still time to sign up to give a pint and participate in the Miller-Keystone Blood Center blood drive Dec. 4. Those who sign up to save a life will receive a T-shirt. You must be at least 16 years of age to donate.

Those interested in participating can sign up in the high school main office.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is looking for individuals for its winter maintenance program that runs each year from October through March. This could lead to permanent employment.

If interested in the program, apply at employment.pa.gov. Select “job opportunities” under the noncivil service heading; on the next page, select “PennDOT winter maintenance program.”

Suburban North Family YMCA is looking for high school students to assist with a seventh-grade initiative.

Students will assist kids with gym activities, such as basketball, kickball and more. It is approximately 10 hours a week.

The Catasauqua branch is also looking for a child watch associate.

You must be 16 years old and like working with children. You will be responsible for watching children of all ages while parents use the gym facilities.
