NAA teams win titles
The Eastern PA Youth Football League held its championship games at Emmaus Community Park on Sunday, Nov. 11.
The Northampton Athletic Association Junior Varsity Team (11-0) took on South Parkland (10-1) in the championship. The game was tied 0-0 at half and looked like it could possibly be heading to overtime until the JV Kids came through with a late score on a 15-yard touchdown run by Kohler Strohl.
Their defense was stout against South Parkland throughout the day and a late game interception by Devlin Chevere help them win a close game, 6-0, and clinch the EPYFL League Championship.

The NAA Varsity team (11-0) also took on South Parkland (11-0) for the championship. The Varsity Kids scored early on a touchdown pass from AJ Slivka to Zack Rickert to take a 6-0 lead. South Parkland was able to capitalize on a short field from a good punt return to tie the score up 6-6 at halftime.
South Parkland scored a touchdown and took the lead 12-6 in the fourth quarter. The Varsity Kids were running out of time, with 4:30 left in the fourth quarter, and needed a big play on a 4th-and-15. They converted on a 20-yard pass down the sideline from AJ Slivka to Zack Rickert.
The Varsity Kids were able the get the ball down to the 2-yard line with 1:30 left in the game. With the help of the offensive line and running backs they were able to push Slivka across the goal line on a QB sneak to tie the score 12-12. After a successful conversion on a slant pass from Slivka to Zack Rickert, they were able to take the lead 13-12 with 1:20 left to play in the fourth.
The Varsity Kids defense stepped up at the end to keep South Parkland from scoring and sealed the 13-12 victory and clinched the EPYFL Championship.
