WESTERN SALISBURY COLUMN

Salisbury Township School District and Salisbury Township have joined together to host the fourth annual Community Breakfast. If you are a Salisbury Township resident, employee or alumni, come to Salisbury High School 9-11 a.m. Dec. 8 for a free, yes I said free, breakfast. The menu includes pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, coffee and juices. Please RSVP at www.salisburysd.org/breakfast.

With winter, comes the winter music concerts. SHS will hold its concert 7 p.m. Nov. 29. It will include performances by the concert band, concert chorus and the small group Give Me Fortissimore. Admission is free but tickets are available from performers for early admission.

Salisbury Middle School will hold its concert 7 p.m. Dec. 6. This will include performances by the chorus, concert band and jazz band in the middle school cafeteria.

Coffee and Conversation with Salisbury Township School District Superintendent Dr. Randy Ziegenfuss and Assistant Superintendent Lynn Fuini-Hetten will be held 8:45-9:30 a.m. Dec. 4 at Western Salisbury Elementary School. RSVP to Mary Bishop at 610-797-2062, ext. 1000.

All Salisbury Township schools are closed Nov. 22, 23, and 26 for the Thanksgiving holiday.

The Devonshire drop-off is open Dec. 1 and 4. Hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Please note these are the last two dates it is open until the spring.

As always, I will make my plea for all you Black Friday shoppers. Even though this will be the first time in six years that I will not be working retail for the holidays, I still ask that you be kind and patient with all retail employees. They are working long hours, some on a holiday and when the store is that busy, it can be very stressful. So, have fun but above all, be nice.
