LVHN Named Exclusive Sports Medicine Provider for Colonial League Championships

The 5-year partnership with The Colonial League is effective immediately and runs until 2023

Lehigh Valley, PA – The Colonial League for Interscholastic Sports, Inc., a Lehigh Valley

organization that facilitates and administers athletic competition among their 13 member schools,

has named Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) its exclusive sports medicine provider of the

Colonial League Championships. The championship tournaments are held for both boys and girls

events, including soccer, field hockey, golf, cross country, basketball, wresting, baseball, softball,

tennis, track and field, volleyball and competitive spirit.

As part of the agreement, LVHN will provide support to the Colonial League in the form of athletic

training and medical supplies at the league’s championship tournaments, as well as guest speakers

for various events at Colonial League member schools.

“The Colonial League and Lehigh Valley Health Network have been informally working together for

many years, and so it is with great excitement that our partnership has been formalized.” Colonial

League President Bryan Geist said. “LVHN has always been committed to giving back to the

communities it serves, and we are truly appreciative of this opportunity and the great benefit it will be

to our schools and our students.”

The partnership is effective immediately and will run through the end of the 2023 school year.

“We will provide a robust level of medical services which will help safeguard student athletes during

playoff games,” said Dr, Gabe Lewullis, LVHN’s medical director of sports medicine. “LVHN is proud

to partner with Colonial League schools to provide enhanced sports medicine care.”

LVHN has a team of more than two dozen certified athletic trainers who provide care to student

athletes and professional teams throughout the region. Several Colonial League schools already

use LVHN for their athletic training services.
