Laurys Station Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 recently held its 2018 fire company elections choosing Charles Eckhart as president; Jared Farkas as vice president; Robin Hood as recording secretary; Marie Hood as financial secretary; Eric Minford as treasurer; Ian Noll as chaplain, and Chris Greb, Dale Remaley and Matt Gray as trustees.

Also announced were the following fire line officers: Robin Hood, chief; Kevin Remaley, first assistant chief; Chris Greb, second assistant chief; Matt Desch, and Logan Noll, lieutenants; and John Bull, fire police captain.

Staff positions are: Eric Minford, safety; Matt Desch, training; Ben Santee, and Logan Noll, truck engineers; and Marie Hood, photographer; and Jared Farkas and Zach Bath, quartermaster.

Also congratulations go to Dale Remaley, for being named 2017 Firefighter of the Year.

Alex Kovacs received the Chief’s Award, and Charlie Wechsler received the Spirit Award.

Fire company monthly business meetings are 8 p.m. on the second Wednesday of every month.

Fire team training is offered 6:30 p.m. every Monday.
