EASTERN SALISBURY COLUMN
The week of Oct. 15, Salisbury Middle School will celebrate spirit week. Each day offers different opportunities for the students to show their spirit. They have superhero day, throwback day, twin day, blue and white day and pajama/I believe day. They will also have a pep rally Oct. 18.
On Oct. 19, all Salisbury Township schools will dismiss early. SMS and Salisbury High School will dismiss 12:15 p.m. while Harry S Truman Elementary School and Western Salisbury Elementary School will dismiss 1 p.m.
The annual HST Halloween Parade will be held 2 p.m. Oct. 26. Look for information to be sent home with your students regarding any parties or festivities in the classrooms. Please remember any food sent to school needs to be listed on the acceptable party foods list to keep all of the children safe.
The HST Book Fair will be held the week of Oct. 29. Students will have the opportunity to shop during school hours with their class; information will be sent home soon. There will also be evening hours 6-8 p.m. Oct. 30 and Nov. 1.
HST will hold a Make and Take Parent Workshop 5:30 to 7 p.m. Oct. 20. Look for information on how to register for this event to be sent home shortly.
Salisbury Township will hold Trick-or-Treat night 6-8 p.m. Oct. 26. If traveling through the township that night, please be extra cautious of the younger ghosts and goblins who may be roaming the streets. Please remember to exercise caution, stay with a group and only go to those homes with porch lights on.
Looking forward, HST and WSE will dismiss 1 p.m. Nov. 2.
On Nov. 11, the Salisbury Falcon Twirlers will hold their annual Designer Purse Bingo fundraiser at SMS. Please support the twirlers with their fundraising efforts by attending this event. This year’s bingo will feature Coach, Kate Spade, Michael Kors, Vera Bradley purses, Thirty-One bags and a basket raffle. Advance tickets can be pre-ordered by contacting Heather at salisburytwirlingbooster@gmail.com. Tickets are higher the day of the event. Doors open noon; bingo starts 1 p.m.
The Franko Farm yard waste dropoff site will be open 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 23, 27 and 30.
