The elementary school’s pumpkin-decorating contest is fast approaching, which means it is time to bring out your creative side and get those ideas flowing. All students are invited to participate in the contest by submitting a carved or decorated pumpkin - or a combination of both.
All entries must be submitted between Oct. 22 and Oct. 24. Judging will take place Oct. 25.
First-place ribbons and certificates will be awarded in the following categories for kindergarten through second grade and third grade through fourth grade: funniest, most colorful, best animal theme, best super hero theme, prettiest, most unusual, best classroom theme, best cartoon/movie character theme, scariest and most creative. Students must enter their pumpkin in only one category they wish to be judged in, and the pumpkin should be placed on the table for that category when it is being dropped off. Entries should be labeled with the student’s name and homeroom number on an index card.
Remember, all entries must be removed at the end of the day Oct. 26, or they will be discarded in the trash.
