Joseph H. Wetzel, 82, died Sept. 26, 2018, at his daughter’s Whitehall home. He was the husband of Dawn M. (Bortz) Wetzel.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Harvey J. and Anna E. (Palmer) Wetzel.
He worked in the building maintenance department of the Whitehall-Coplay School District. After retiring, he delivered parts for ABS Auto Parts. He worked previously in construction with Roth and Ellis Inc.
He was a volunteer firefighter for Station 36, Whitehall Township, for over 50 years. He volunteered for fire company events including Fire Prevention Week, Operation Santa and handing out trick-or-treat night candy.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by their three daughters, Kelly and her husband Bill Hunsicker, Jodi and her husband Cleveland Hunter and Tracy Bortz; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his two daughters, Sandra Witmer and Patricia Wetzel; and two brothers, Billy and Paul Wetzel.
He was predeceased by three brothers, Bobby, Howard and Roy Wetzel; and three sisters, Lorraine Fritz, Marie Kates and Helen Steckler.
