CHS falls to NDGP

The Catasauqua Rough Riders girls volleyball team dropped a home match to Notre Dame of Green Pond on Thursday in straight sets.

The Crusaders entered the game in second place in the Colonial League, so the Roughs were the decided underdogs on paper. The situation was made more difficult by the absence of three key Roughs players.

Senior Leah Klinger stepped up to assume the setter role and chipped in a couple of service aces in the third set to give Catty a brief 3-0 lead. However, the Roughs struggled with serve receive and Notre Dame put together several long runs on their serve leading to set scores of 25-2, 25-3, and 25-6.

At the halfway mark Catasauqua is still looking for their first win of the season. Their next home match will be on Thursday against Palmerton.
