FALCON INSIDER
Salisbury High School has been very busy the last few weeks.
Students have begun to plan for Homecoming. Each class has chosen their theme and has begun to prepare decorations. Before long, the yearly man dance will begin to be choreographed.
Mark your calendars for the annual Homecoming Parade. This year’s parade will begin 5:30 p.m Oct. 12, starting at Harry S Truman Elementary School and ending in the SHS stadium. All interested community members should come out to view the parade and then join SHS as they attempt to beat the Slaters at this year’s Homecoming game.
No Place For Hate, a club that promotes kindness in SHS and throughout the community, is selling ReFocus bands for its 2018 fall fundraiser.
These bands have a unique design on one side and a positive message on the other. The bands are designed to wear as an accessory and when the person wearing the bracelet has negative thoughts, the band can be flipped around to display the positive message.
The bands come in a variety of different styles and with many different positive messages. They also can be ordered in adult and kid sizes. These bands can be great for Christmas or birthday gifts. All interested community members should contact a SHS No Place for Hate member.
All students in grades five through 12 can attend East Penn School District’s Career Exploration Fair. A number of different job opportunities and ideas will be presented at this event. It will be held 6 p.m. Oct. 4.
National Honor Society members will volunteer at the WAEB Spaghetti Dinner at Asbury United Methodist Church 2 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 2 to benefit the Allentown Rescue Mission. The students will volunteer both the Friday before to help with setup and during the event. Come support the NHS students as they volunteer, enjoy dinner and help the Allentown Rescue Mission.
