WESTERN SALISBURY COLUMN
Due to the air quality issues at Western Salisbury Elementary School, picture day will now be held Oct. 9.
The open house for grades kindergarten through grade two has been postponed until further notice. More information will follow when students are back home at WSE.
Speaking of the relocation to Salisbury Middle School and Harry S Truman Elementary School, can I just say how fantastic the staff and administration at SMS and HST have been to the WSE staff and students? They have shared their rooms, supplies and even bought us treats. Thank you so much to SMS and HST. It just shows how much of a family the Salisbury Township School District really is.
And to the parents who are wondering how their students are adjusting, I can speak for the third to fifth graders since I am working with them, and say, extremely well. They are learning the layout of the building (as the teachers are as well) and loving having lunch in the huge cafeteria, gym class in the gigantic gym and for those with older siblings at SMS, they love seeing them in the hall. So, have no fear Mom and Dad, your students are in good hands.

Sept. 14 will be an early dismissal day for Salisbury schools. Salisbury High School and SMS will dismiss 12:15 p.m. while WSE and HST will dismiss 1 p.m.
SHS will hold a dual enrollment meeting 6 p.m. Sept. 20, which will be immediately followed by open house 6:45 p.m. Don’t you just love open house? I love to meet the teachers who have to deal with, I mean, get the honor of teaching my kids every day. I like to put faces with names and to see what other students are in class with them. Come on out, there are usually cookies and juice!
SMS will hold a book fair Sept. 24 to 28.
The next school board meeting will be 7:30 p.m. Sept. 19 at the administration building. The next curriculum and technology meeting will be 7 p.m. Sept. 24 at the administration building.
