The officers and trustees of the Cetronia Fire Company, No. 1, recently donated funds to the fire department with the approval of the club membership.
Fire company funds are raised from small games of chance, bingo, and other fundraisers.
Approximately $4,000 was donated to the fire department and was used to replace aging gas meters, which are carried in the fire apparatus.
Two MSA Safety Altair 5X Multigas Detectors were purchased. Each meter is capable of detecting up to six gases, including natural gas, simultaneously.
This technology adds a great deal of safety to firefighters, EMS personnel, police and residents of South Whitehall Township.
Cetronia Fire Department Chief Jay Heicklen and fire company officials Lori Hirschel, trustee; Kate Sabota, treasurer; Tim Sabota, trustee; Jack Lojko, vice president; Jeff Schuler, trustee and Assistant Chief Mike Butler attended the donation presentation.PRESS PHOTO BY LOU WHEELAND Copyright - Lou Wheeland
