A great way to help earn money for our school is through the A+ School Rewards, a fundraising program run by your local Giant store. Starting Sept. 10, you can register your bonus card to help Sheckler. Just visit giantfoodstores.com, select savings and rewards and enter your bonus card number, as well as Sheckler’s school ID, which is 23399.

Every time you shop and use your bonus card, you will be helping to earn cash for your school. Last year, Sheckler received a check for nearly $2,000.

Sheckler Elementary School’s meet-the-teacher night will be held Sept. 13. Information regarding class procedures, curriculum, programs, events and more will be shared by your child’s teacher. Doors open 6 p.m.

There will be two sessions held this evening, making it possible for parents with more than one child at Sheckler Elementary to be able to attend more than one classroom. The first session will begin 6:10 p.m., and the second session will start 6:50 p.m.

There will be information tables set up for you to visit and learn about some great organizations you may want to join and become involved in. Parents are being asked to please not bring children if possible, as there is no child care available.

Sheckler Home and School is a wonderful organization you can become involved in. The organization assists in planning fun events for students throughout the school year. Volunteers organize fundraising to help benefit the school and the students.

Home and School meets once a month to discuss topics and plan future activities. All parents are invited and encouraged to attend.

Home and School is a great way for parents to stay involved and help out through the year by volunteering some of your time with fundraisers or events and sharing your ideas. It is also a great way to meet other parents and work together to benefit all the students at Sheckler.
