Catherine “Kitty” Rank, 99, of Northampton, died Aug. 27, 2018, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg. She was the wife of the late David T. Rank.
Born in Northampton, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary (Mikisits) Gerencser.
During World War II, she worked sewing military uniforms.
She was a seamstress in the garment industry for many years. She was a longtime cook and worker at the Hungarian Hall (Saint Peter and Paul Society) in Northampton for more than 50 years.
She was a member of Queenship of Mary Catholic Church, formerly Our Lady of Hungary Church, for more than 80 years.
She was a member of the women’s guild and the VFW women’s auxiliary.
She was a school cafeteria volunteer.
She is survived by two daughters, Christine and her husband Bill Nagle of Hatfield and Mary and her husband Francis Tokarczyk of Angier, N.C.; a son, David J. and his wife Frances of Northampton; seven grandchildren, Andrea, Tom, Todd, Tara, David, Lea and Daniel; and nine great-grandchildren, Truman, Juliet, Sierra, Madison, Zachary, Kinsley, Kylee, Brenna and Isaiah.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Mary Groller and Gizella Gerencser; and two brothers, Felix and John Gerencser.
