Nancy L. “Nana” Carls Strohecker, 74, of Upper Milford Township, formerly of Allentown, died Aug. 16, 2018. She was the wife of David L. Strohecker and the late William J. Carls. Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late John and Jeanne (Fahler) Hausman.

She was a 1961 graduate of William Allen High School.

She was an extraordinarily active member of Waldheim Park as treasurer, and of both Christ E.C. Church and formerly, Seibert E.C. Church.

A devoted wife and matriarch, she was truly a woman of “noble character” (Proverbs 31:10-31).

She is survived by her husband; daughters, Karen L. (Carls) and her husband, Andre Berard, of Allentown; Kathy L. (Carls) and her husband, Michael Canfield, of Emmaus; sons, LCDR John W. Carls, Ph.D., and his wife, Pamela, Dayton, of Ohio; James W. Carls and his wife, Michele, of Allentown; stepdaughters, Trudi L. Coffman, Tami S. Jackson; stepson, John G.; brother, David Hausman and his wife, Regina; sister, Eleanor and her husband, Robert Issermoyer; grandchildren, Rachel (Daniel), Brittany (Alan), Philip, Zechariah (Elizabeth), Bryson, Rebekah, Abigail, Bethany, Danielle, Alexandrea, Madison, Mackenzie; five step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

Contributions may be made to the funeral home to assist with expenses.
