Melvin J. Chontofalsky, 82, of Northampton, died Aug. 12, 2018, in his daughter’s home. He was the husband of Ruth (Lerch) Chontofalsky for 64 years.
Born in Egypt, he was a son of the late Joseph Chontofalsky and Marie (Polanski) Gilbert.
He worked in the maintenance department of Tarkett for 34 years. He was later a bus driver for First Student for several years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Ronald Sr. and his wife Cheryl, Gail Bauer, Gloria and her husband Marvin Reed Jr. and Matthew and his wife Lisa; four grandchildren, Amy and her husband Troy Hutter, Lisa German and her fiance Mike Barna, Ronald Chontofalsky Jr. and Jesse Chontofalsky; three great-grandchildren, Noah and Ava Hutter and Cameron German; four half brothers; and two half sisters.
He was predeceased by three half sisters.
Services will be at the convenience of the family.
