The Salisbury boys and girls soccer teams have a lot going on.

First, the teams will host a car wash fundraiser noon to 4 p.m. Aug. 18, with a rain date of Aug. 19. This will be held at Big Woody’s, 1841 S. 4th St., Allentown. Come out and support our school soccer teams.

Second, there will be a youth soccer clinic for aspiring soccer players ages five to 12, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 25 at the Salisbury High School stadium field. The deadline to register is Aug. 18, and the first 50 to sign up get a T-shirt. The time is just about here: the first day of school. Orientation for students in grades kindergarten, six and nine and those new to the high school will be held Aug. 27. The elementary schools will dismiss 1 p.m. and the middle and high schools will dismiss 12:15 p.m.

All students report Aug. 28 with a regular dismissal time. Schools are closed Aug. 31 and Sept. 3 for the Labor Day holiday. Welcome back!

One last reminder that bus cards for this coming school year will be listed on the community portal and not sent home through the mail. Salisbury Township is auctioning off four township vehicles. So, if you are looking for a 1990 Chevy step van, 2008 F550 dump truck, 2009 Dodge Charger or a 2006 Ford Explorer, visit the website Municibid.com. Bids will be taken until 3 p.m. Aug. 29.

The next school board meeting will be 7:30 p.m. Aug 15 at the administration building.

There will be a curriculum and technology committee meeting 7 p.m. Aug. 27 at the administration building.

The Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church concert series has two upcoming events. A concert by The Royalaires will be held 7 p.m. Aug. 23. A concert by the Wandering Singers begins 3 p.m. Aug 26. Enjoy.

The Devonshire drop-off is open Aug. 18 and 21. Hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
