Robert D. Hiestand, 90, of Whitehall, died Aug. 6, 2018, at Luther Crest Health Care Center, Allentown. He was the husband of Althea E. (Petrie) for 69 years.

Born in Northampton, he was a son of the late Elvin J. and Helen (Berg) Hiestand.

He was a 1946 graduate of Northampton Area High School.

He worked in the installation division of Western Electric for 30 years until he retired in 1982.

He was of the United Church of Christ faith.

He was a woodworker and had built a doll house for each granddaughter.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Donna H. and her husband Donald P. Martin of Downingtown; two sons, Ronald E. and his wife Marge of Allentown and Kent D. of Langhorne; a daughter-in-law, Kathy L. of Downingtown; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a son, Larry R.; and a great-granddaughter.
