Chosen Words
There are millions of people in the world,
In every corner of the earth,
Each person has his own values,
Each person has his own worth.
Amazingly, we are different,
There are no two alike;
Except twins, of course,
They look alike, and sound alike,
But, may not think alike
Each person has his own mind;
To plan his own destiny.
Each one sets his own goals in life,
Including you and me.
Some people become scientists,
Doctors, nurses, too.
Artists, lawyers, teachers,
And some will become preachers.
Some might be our laborers,
And wear a strong, hard hat;
They chose their favorite line of work,
There’s nothing wrong with that!
We need the laborers in this world,
To provide the things we need.
Clothing, housing, bridges, roads,
Buses, cars and such;
Farmers work so very hard to
Provide the food we eat;
Without them we’d be quite hungry,
So I thank them very much!
Some people work on Wall Street
And play around with graphs;
Others are comedians and
Want to make us laugh.
All people have a purpose,
Not all are very good;
Not all people act the same,
Or do the things they should.
Some people seem to go astray
And do things that are bad.
Hurting other people doesn’t make
Anybody glad.
We have the Constitution
And the Ten Commandments, too,
To show us what to do.
I try to follow all the rules in life.
I wish you would, too.
Regardless of your calling,
Be sure you do it well;
Your life will be a story for
Your grandchildren to tell.
