Stephen J. Deutsch, 91, of Allentown, died Aug. 1, 2018, at Country Meadows, Bethlehem. He was the husband of the late Helen B. (Billig) Deutsch.
Born in Kreidersville, he was a son of the late Steffan and Mary (Stutzenberger) Deutsch.
He was a 1945 graduate of Northampton High School.
He was a World War II veteran and was in the U.S. Army Air Corps.
He was a supermarket refrigeration specialist and worked for 22 years for R.L. Eggert Refrigeration Company, Irvington, N.J., until he retired in 1992.
He was a member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, Whitehall, where he was a councilman.
He was a Scoutmaster for 10 years with Troop 32, Whitehall, and was a 10-year member of the Andreas Sporting Club.
He and his late wife raised seeing eye dogs for the Lehigh County 4-H Seeing Eye Puppy Club for 30 years.
He is survived by a son, Michael S. of Walnutport; a sister, Hilda and her husband Richard Mortimer of Coplay; and a brother, Donald Deutsch.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Roberta H. Deutsch; and a sister, Rosie McGinley.
