Melissa Jacobs, the proprietor of Julia’s Four Seasons, Catasauqua, opened up the front yard of the consignment shop to a group of artists July 28.

“This was just a fun time. There were no setup fees because these are new artists looking for ways to get their art out to the public,” Jacobs said.

Lakisha Williams kept the group in stitches as the roving comedian.

For an impromptu event at the 327 Front St. store location, vendors were pleased with the results. Tammy and Steve Ganssle were there with their Relay for Life booth. They are getting ready for the May 2019 event in Hellertown.

Ruth Boyd’s collection of bows was stunning.

“We have done well in Catasauqua. I try to cover shows in the Valley, so I get up to Northampton and do shows in Whitehall,” Boyd said.

Many of the artists are friends with Jacobs. Katie Lawlor works the cash register at Julia’s on some weekends and creates with her friends Heather and Brittany Green at Kitty Couture.

Several of the vendors were showing their artwork for the first time. Leah Quirk with HabitCraft has a unique collection of boxes.

Mercedes Wagner markets under a couple of different headings; Natural Crafts by Starlin Firefly and Triple Moon Rock are her Facebook handles. Everything in her collection is hand painted.

Liza and Nina Boodhansingh are sisters creating their own businesses. Liza is a baker who operates Boodelicious Cakes and Sweet Treats. Nina left the confines of the Banana Factory once she got her own studio to display her jewelry.
