A Whitehall Township man was killed July 23 in a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian in Allentown.

According to reports, Philip J. Cyriax, 54, was crossing the roadway on foot in the area of 1033 Airport Road at approximately 8:57 p.m. when he was struck by a vehicle. He was pronounced dead at approximately 9:20 p.m. at St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem, by the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office.

According to the coroner, the cause of death was multiple blunt force trauma due to a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian. The manner of death was ruled an accident.

The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office is investigating the incident with the Allentown Police Department and Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office.
