John C. August died June 30, 2018. Born in Bethlehem, he was a son of Jack and Hilda August.

He joined the United States Air Force and was stationed at Lowry Air Force Base in Denver, Colo. He was in the Korean War and was stationed in Japan.

He was the husband of Betty Rico.

He was a postman with the United States Postal Service for 30 years.

in addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Cheryl and her husband Mike Sanelli and Jack August; a grandson, Mario Sanelli; two sisters, Fran Kratzer and Theresa Achey; two brothers, Edward Deb August and Richard and his wife Elza August; nieces; and nephews.
