Bus cards for Salisbury Township School District will not be sent through the mail for the 2018-2019 school year. They will be available on the community portal, so please make sure to check the portal before the beginning of the school year.
Summer library hours for students in grades kindergarten through eighth are 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. On July 25 and Aug. 1, the library at Harry S Truman Elementary School will be open.
Salisbury High School will hold its second and final Pages and Pizza 5 to 7 p.m. July 25 in the high school library. Any student entering grades nine through 12 this fall can check out some books for summer reading while enjoying a slice of pizza. Books will be due back to school in September. Registration is recommended by contacting the high school librarian at rburns@salisburysd.org.
The summer playground program continues. Township children who are entering first grade through age 12 are eligible to participate. Program hours are 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday and 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evenings. Participating parks include Green Acres, Devonshire and Laubach. The last day for the Allentown Public Library book van to visit parks is July 20.
Salisbury’s annual Playground Day as part of the summer playground program will be July 25 with a rain date of July 26 at Devonshire Park for registered children. There will be games, hot dogs, prizes and more. Transportation will be provided from some parks. More information will be available later at all playground program locations.
AMC Summer Movie Camp is at the AMC Classic 16 theatre at 1700 Catasauqua Road, Allentown this summer. For a small fee 10 a.m. every Wednesday, participants can see a movie and get a small popcorn, a drink and a pack of fruit snacks. On July 25, the movie is “Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie,” Aug. 1 is “The Nut Job 2.” For a complete listing, visit AMCTheatres.com/summer-movie-camp.
The Devonshire drop-off is open July 21. Hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
