Myron Hanselman
Myron “Tunner” Hanselman died July 11, 2018, at Whitehall Manor. He was the husband of Doris (Young) Hanselman for 65 years.
Born in Wolfe’s Store, he was the son of the late Irwin Blaine and Nora (Bowersox) Hanselman.
A 1952 graduate of East Penn Valley High School, he enlisted in the Pennsylvania Air National Guard in 1951.
He served in the U.S. Air Force and was assigned to Grenier Air Force Base, New Hampshire, and then Brookfield Air Force Base, Brookfield, Ohio, during the Korean War. After that, he reported to the 112th Pennsylvania Air National Guard, State College. In October 1961, he was recalled for active duty for assignment in Germany due to the Berlin Crisis. Upon returning, he proudly served with the 112th Air Control Squadron until retiring after 42 years of service as a senior master sergeant.
He received the Air Reserve Meritorious Service medal with eight oak clusters, along with the Air Force Longevity Service award and many other medals.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Cathy D. and her husband Robert Berkheiser; a son, Jeffrey E. Hanselman and his husband Jeffrey White; two grandchildren, Tasha Bottorf and her husband Pierce Heffner and Matthew W. Bottorf; and two great-grandchildren Andrew (AJ) and Zachary Kent, all of Allentown.
He was predeceased by a brother, John Hanselman.
A memorial service will be held July 21 at Miles Township Fire Company, 102 Broad St., Rebersburg. Calling hours are 10-11 a.m. with the service to follow.
