Jacqueline M. Fetsko, 92, of Bethlehem, died recently. She was the daughter of the late Alexander R. and Susanna (Yosko) Fetsko.
She was a 1946 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania. She earned a master of science degree in chemistry from Lehigh University.
She was associated with the National Printing Ink Research Institute at Lehigh University for 55 years when she retired in 2004. She had been a supervisor of printing research, an assistant research director, and, since 1974, director of technical services.
She has 46 publications, of which eight on ink transfer and print quality are in The Technical Association of the Graphic Arts Proceedings. She was, in 1954, the first woman to present a TAGA paper. She is co-author of the Walker-Fetsko Ink Transfer Equation. She lectured, in 1960, at every then-existing printing research institute throughout Europe.
She was responsible for the interior layout and proposals of the Francis MacDonald Sinclair Memorial Laboratory at Lehigh University. She received numerous honors for her 49 years of service to National Association of Printing Ink Manufacturers and the ASTM.
She was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church of the Byzantine Right, Bethlehem, and was instrumental in instituting a parish library. She was a pierogie group volunteer.
A duplicate bridge player, she was a Life Master of the American Contract Bridge League. She was a six time Lehigh Valley Bridge Association Player of the Year. She was a founding editor of the “Looking Down the Valley” news bulletin.
She was predeceased by a brother, Bernard J. Fetsko.
