Nevin W. Meck, 92, of Alburtis, died June 1, 2018, in Lehigh Valley Hospital. He was the husband of the late Lucile E. (Oswald) Meck. Born in Longswamp Township, he was a son of the late Daniel K. and Sallie R. (Shoemaker) Meck.

He was a machine operator and shop foreman for Amity Machine Shop, retiring in 1991 after 40 years of service.

A Navy veteran of World War II, he was a member of American Legion Ray A. Master Post 217, Topton. He was a longtime member of their honor guard.

He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Mertztown and served on the property committee, church council and Lutheran Men’s Association.

He was a board member of Longswamp Cemetery and former assistant Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 575, Longswamp.

He is survived by daughters, Sarah E. and her husband Paul LeDuc; Kathleen A.; sisters, Sallie Ann and her husband George Schofer; Shirley and her husband Russell Guldin; grandsons, Charles A.; Patrick J. and his wife, Megan; Matthew E. and his wife Katie; great-grandsons, Xander and Samuel. He was predeceased by a daughter, Carol S. in 1997 and 10 other siblings.

Memorial donations may be made in his name to the church memorial fund.
