John A. Kozero Jr., 83, died June 10, 2018, at home. He was the husband of Marie (Huber) Kozero for 57 years.
Born in Northampton, he was a son of the late John and Theresa (Hujsa) Kozero.
He was a Northampton High School graduate and had continuing education in metallurgy.
He was in the U.S. National Guard from 1957 to 1963 as a special task force sharpshooter, a meteorologist and in the Military Police.
He worked for many years at Bethlehem Steel and then at Mack Trucks Inc. for 24 years, until he retired.
He was a member of St. Michael’s Polish Church, where he sang in the choir and was a past president of the Holy Name Society. He continued his membership at Queenship of Mary Church, Northampton.
He was a member of the Fourth Degree of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 528 and was a navigator and a district marshal.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Donna M. and her husband John D. McCorkle Jr.; two sons, Mark J. and Thomas J.; a daughter, Cynthia Ann Riley and her companion Michael Holihan; four grandchildren, Michael, Amanda, Matthew and Danny; three great-grandchildren; and one brother, Jim Kozero of California.
He was predeceased by three brothers, Bernard, Ronald and Andrew.
