Wilson Lee Hobbs, co-owned ASL

Wilson Lee Hobbs, of Clarksville, Md., and recently of Bethlehem, died June 15, 2018, after a short illness. He was the husband of the late Shirley Louise Bailey.

Born in Howard County, Md., he was a son of the late Charles W. Hobbs and Sophia Eleanor (Cissel) Hobb.

He was in the United States Army in 1944 and 1945.

In 1960, he and his brother-in-law bought American Safe and Lock of Washington, D.C. He eventually became sole owner until he sold the business, about 23 years later, which became the cornerstone of Safemasters, Silver Spring, Md., of which he was vice-president until about 1997.

He was a choir member for 40 years at Mount Zion United Methodist Church.

He is survived by a daughter-in-law, Karen B., with whom he resided; a grandson,Michael B.; nieces; and nephews.

He was predeceased by two sons, Gregory and Michael D. Hobbs; a daughter, Sandra; and six sisters, Mary, Kathryn, Betty, Sally, Frances and Peggy.
