Elaine Buttacavoli, 75, of Macungie, died May 30, 2018. She was the wife of Peter Buttacavoli. They were married for 57 years. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of Sidney and Rae Balinsky.

She graduated from Glassboro State Teachers College in New Jersey and was a certified teacher of the handicapped. Although afflicted with muscular dystrophy herself, she was a teacher for many years. When her disability prevented her from teaching she retired.

She is survived by her husband; son, Craig; daughter, Lana; sister, Harriet; brothers, Warren, Alvin and David.

Services were held at the Torregrossa Funeral Home, Brooklyn, N.Y.
