Fullerton: Church plans June 8, 9 festival

St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church, 618 Fullerton Ave., is hosting its annual parish festival 6-10 p.m. June 8 and 5-10 p.m. June 9.

There will be ethnic festival foods, featuring the famous halupki dinner June 8 and steamed clams June 9. There will also be baked goods, a bake sale and a beer stand, as well as adult and children games, raffles and desserts.

Live entertainment will be provided June 8 by Lo & Behold and June 9 by The Chaz Band. An entertainer with balloons and a strolling magician will perform June 8, and Andy the Clown joins the balloon entertainment June 9.

St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 835 Third St., will be holding Vacation Bible School - titled “Splash Canyon” - 6:30-8:30 p.m. June 18-22. VBS participants will be singing songs, making crafts, enjoying snacks and learning Bible stories that pertain to water.

The closing program will be 9:30 a.m. June 24.

St. Elizabeth’s Golden Agers is looking for someone to heat up lunch the first Friday of the month 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. in the parish hall.
