Parking was in short supply at Ontelaunee Park on April 28.

There was a soccer game on the playing field and a yard sale with many people looking for bargains.

Lynn Township Supervisor Justin Smith had suggested having a yard sale. Kathy Hermany and Supervisor Steve Feinour did the organizing, each giving the other credit.

One large item was reportedly sold already at 8:30 a.m. though the sale was scheduled to start at 11 a.m. This reporter was not told what the item was or the name of the buyer, just that the sale occurred.

Isabella Meckes was selling Aquanauts, with all of them, plus their equipment, bought by a man named Mike.

At 10 a.m., she was laying out her small cars. She had a lot of dolls, a doll house and other toys.

Vendors had things as big as a kayak and small as model cars and as enticing as a ceramic cherry pie.

“We have such a beautiful park,” Feinour said. “I urge people to come and enjoy it. If they come to things like this for a first visit they might return for other events.”

He said the old pavilion is being taken down and a second new one will be built to provide more opportunity for rentals.
