Whitehall Township Public Library will be open May 26 but closed May 28 for the Memorial Day holiday.

Our summer reading program will begin in June. It will be for all ages from toddlers to adults. The theme this is year is “Libraries Rock.”

We will have a variety of music programs, some fun science programs and a block party in August.

Lehigh Valley Business Group, lvbg.org, is running a sock drive, with the goal of collecting and distributing 5,000 or more pairs of socks to people who need them.

The library will be one of the collection centers, and you can bring in new socks of any size, style or color. We will collect socks through June 28.

Anyone with a current Whitehall Township Public Library card has access to all of the databases located on the right side of our website.

One of the most important is the PA Access Power Library. This has everything from biographies to medical, from general references to newspapers.

The beading club will meet 1:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays.

Marty Beaton is donating supplies, so visitors and new members can try it out for free.
